We welcome members of the philanthropic community to join us for National Philanthropy Day here in Maryland. AFP Maryland is pleased to host this event in-person at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore North at the Village of Cross Keys. To kickoff our celebration, the event will begin with a continental breakfast and networking, followed by a panel discussion featuring local leaders of philanthropy. 

The panel discussion, Beyond Donor-Centric Thinking: Fundraising with a Community Approach, moderated by Tara Turner, Assistant VP of Development at Morgan State University, will feature Dani Faulker, Director of Development at Parity Homes, Darius Graham, Managing Director, Community Investment at the Greater Washington Community Foundation, and Jennifer Millman, Director, Jewish Women's Giving Foundation of Baltimore. The conversation will focus on these key questions: how does an organization – and the fundraisers within it – juggle the need to think like a donor without thinking only of donors? Every nonprofit organization has many constituents – staff, board, clients, volunteers, community, funders, and other supporters. How do we keep these many voices in sync to value the organization’s entire community? 

Our program will conclude with our 2023 National Philanthropy Day award winners ceremony. These award winners have made significant contributions to the Maryland nonprofit community and embody the spirit of philanthropy and through their work have made and continue to strengthen our communities. 
 
National Philanthropy Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 11 a.m. The event schedule is as follows:
 
8:30 - 9:15 a.m. - Check-in & Networking Breakfast
9:30 - 10:30 a.m. - Panel Discussion
10:30 - 11:00 a.m. - Awardee Ceremony
