Nearly 400 members and other development professionals meet frequently to learn from AFP-International’s resources and participate in a range of chapter offerings, including:

AFP Maryland is delighted to announce the selection of George and Betsy Sherman as the 2018 Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year and the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund as the 2018 Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation of the Year. Both will be honored at the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon Celebration in Maryland on Wednesday, November 14.   

In addition, we will honor James “Winky” & Florine “Peaches” Camphor with the Community Impact Award. The Community Impact Award is given to those individuals, corporations or foundations that have a significant, measurable impact in the community through their philanthropy, as well as their volunteer efforts, board service and promotion of social goals.  We will also honor Outstanding Youth Fundraisers and Unsung Heroes. Individual tickets are available for $85 per person or $750 for a table of 10.

AFP Offers Scholarships Opportunity for 2019 International Conference

AFP is pleased to offer $1,500 (conference fee, plus some travel expenses) scholarships for each of the currently identified diverse communities.  AFP’s diverse communities include: African-American/Black, Asian, People with Disabilities, Faith-based, LGBTQ, Hispanic, Jewish, Rural, or another underrepresented community.  The application process will open September 1 – October 31, 2018.  Deadline for application submission is October 31, 2018. Selected candidates will be notified by email by December 1, 2018.

2019 Diverse Communities Scholarship Application

Now Accepting Presenter Proposals for the 2019 Fundraising Day in Maryland Conference!

AFP Maryland is seeking fundraising professionals interested in sharing their knowledge, ideas and experience by becoming a presenter at the 2019 Fundraising Day in Maryland conference, June 10 at the BWI Airport Marriott.  We are seeking session proposals targeting development professionals of all stages of their career, featuring beginners, intermediate and advanced fundraising topics.  Presenting a seminar or workshop is also an excellent opportunity to earn CFRE credits for those seeking CFRE certification.
