Nearly 400 members and other development professionals meet frequently to learn from AFP-International’s resources and participate in a range of chapter offerings, including:

George & Betsy Sherman Selected as 2018 Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year; and the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund Chosen as the 2018 Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation of the Year; James "Winky" & Florine "Peaches" Camphor to be Honored with the Chapter's Community Impact Award

True to the meaning of philanthropy, the Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year Award and the Outstanding Foundation of the Year Award both recognize the contribution of money, along with time and skill, to promote the well-being of others and the betterment of the community. Recipients and nominees of these awards exemplify the true spirit of giving. View list of past recipients

AFP Maryland is delighted to announce the selection of George and Betsy Sherman as the 2018 Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year and the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund as the 2018 Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation of the Year. In addition, we will honor James “Winky” & Florine “Peaches” Camphor with the Community Impact Award. The Community Impact Award is given to those individuals, corporations or foundations that have a significant, measurable impact in the community through their philanthropy, as well as their volunteer efforts, board service and promotion of social goals. All will be honored at the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon Celebration in Maryland on Wednesday, November 14.   Tickets to the event will go on sale in August.
