Membership Scholarships Available in 2026

The AFP Maryland Chapter is pleased to offer membership scholarship opportunities to support fundraising professionals at all stages of their careers. Each year, the Chapter and its Board of Directors commit to welcoming new members and re-engaging lapsed members who are interested in advancing their professional growth through involvement with AFP.

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and distributed on a rolling schedule, so early application is encouraged.

These scholarships are intended to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent new, current, or lapsed members from accessing the full benefits of Chapter membership—including professional development, peer connection, and community support. Each scholarship covers 100% of AFP membership dues for one year, beginning on the start date confirmed upon Chapter approval and scholarship notification.

Individuals whose AFP membership is set to renew by December 31, 2026 are eligible to apply. Applicants who have previously received a Chapter scholarship are not eligible to reapply until 12 months after their prior scholarship approval date.

As part of our commitment to shared learning and leadership development, scholarship recipients are required to serve on at least one AFP Maryland Chapter committee for a one-year term and to actively engage in Chapter programs and events. Committee service is an important component of the scholarship experience and helps strengthen our fundraising community.

During the application process, you will be asked to indicate the committee(s) you are interested in serving on. Committee placement will be coordinated following notification of scholarship awards.
