Our Mission

To foster the growth and development of a culturally diverse population of fundraising professionals, enhance philanthropy by encouraging giving and volunteering, and promote ethics in fundraising and sound non-profit management throughout Maryland.

AFP-Maryland will be recognized as a leading advocate on fundraising and philanthropic issues in our community and the professional organization of choice for fundraising professionals.

Our Goals

The AFP Maryland Chapter endeavors to offer the professional and volunteer fundraising community exceptional opportunities for continuing education, professional advancement, certification and exchange of relevant information.

  1. Membership: Strengthen membership through diversity, recruitment, retention,  and engagement.
  2. Professional Advancement: Provide excellent and relevant fundraising programs, education, and training.
  3. Communications: Enhance AFP Maryland communications to all stakeholders in the philanthropic community, including but not limited to members, potential members, fundraising professionals, donors, and vendors.
  4. Governance: Be effectively governed, efficiently managed, appropriately structured, and soundly funded.

Accountability

AFP Maryland is a 501(c)(3) organization under the Association of Fundraising Professional's group exemption. Our federal tax ID is 52-1600646. Your AFP Maryland chapter is governed by a set of by-laws drafted and approved by AFP International, and adopted by our membership.  Read the by-laws approved in November 2014.  Our form 990-Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax is prepared annually by Kahline CPA, PA.
