Held annually in November, National Philanthropy Day is AFP Maryland's signature event, celebrating philanthropy throughout Maryland.
Change is inevitable—but how we navigate it defines our future.
Join AFP Maryland Chapter for our annual National Philanthropy Day celebration, where this year’s theme, Thriving Through Change: Resilience and Sustainability for the Future, will take center stage.
Our dynamic panel discussion will feature nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, and community experts sharing strategies for:
*Diversifying funding and exploring non-traditional revenue streams
*Innovating program delivery and leveraging technology for scale *Building stronger partnerships across sectors to amplify impact *Leading with resilience, empathy, and data-driven decision-making *Walk away with practical tools, inspiring case studies, and a renewed sense of how our sector can thrive through change while sustaining vital community impact.
Panelists Include:
Franklyn Baker, President & CEO, United Way of Central Maryland Helen Kim, Executive Director, Hoffberger Family Philanthropies Paul Monteiro, Secretary, Maryland Department of Service & Civic Innovation Tanya Jones Terrell, Director of Corporate Community Impact, BGE Early Bird tickets through October 14th are $45 for AFP members and $60 for non-members. After October 14th, tickets will be $55 for AFP members and $70 for non-members.
*New in 2025* We are excited to offer a $30 registration fee for AFP Young Professional Members (30 and under)
National Philanthropy Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. The event schedule is as follows:
8:30 - 9:15 a.m. - Check-in & Networking Breakfast
9:30 - 11:00 a.m. - Panel Discussion
11:00 - 11:30 a.m. - Awardee Ceremony
We are now accepting nominations for this year’s National Philanthropy Day Awards. Take this opportunity to recognize an outstanding colleague, partner, or organization whose contributions to philanthropy deserve to be celebrated. Award categories include: Champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)Emerging Fundraising Professional Fundraising Mentor of the Year Career Achievement Award Corporate Partnership Award Foundation Partnership Award Young Philanthropist Award Creative Campaign of the Year All nominations must be received by Friday, September 26, 2025.
