AFP Maryland Chapter will celebrate the invaluable contributions that philanthropy has made in Maryland communities by presenting several awards during our National Philanthropy Day celebration. Join us as we celebrate the collective efforts and shared values of fundraising and philanthropy through compassion and unity to address the needs and challenges within our community. 

Nominations are now open for the Champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Emerging Fundraising Professional, Fundraising Mentor of the Year, Career Achievement Award, Corporate Partnership Award, Foundation Partnership Award, Young Philanthropist Award and Creative Campaign of the Year. Nominations are open through September 26th. 

Outstanding members of the philanthropic community have been recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Maryland Chapter since 1994. Please see the list of our past awardees.

We are thrilled to host this year's event at Camden Yards, and look forward to sharing registration information in the coming weeks!


Guidelines for Submitting Nominations

The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 26, 2025. You can complete your application here. Nominators are asked to complete a short, two question nomination form for the following award categories:

  • Champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
  • Emerging Fundraising Professional
  • Fundraising Mentor of the Year
  • Career Achievement Award
  • Corporate Partnership Award
  • Foundation Partnership Award
  • Young Philanthropist Award
  • Creative Campaign of the Year

Evaluation - all applications will be reviewed by the internal AFP Nominations Committee and graded on a rubric. Please review each application prompt carefully, and submit any additional materials in the correct format.

Supporting documents – such as resumes, newspaper articles, letters of recommendation (limit of 1 per nomination) – are accepted. Supporting documents should be submitted with the application. 

Notes to Nominators:

  • Check the accuracy of all information before submitting your nomination.
  • Contact your candidate before completing the application to ensure they are interested in receiving this public honor and that they are available on November 13, 2025.  
  • Identify a Recognition Point of Contact to serve as a liaison for your organization. This person will work closely with the AFP Maryland National Philanthropy Day Selection Committee Chair on all aspects of recognition.
