AFP Maryland is thrilled to announce National Philanthropy Day in Maryland on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Camden Yards Early Bird registration for the AFP Maryland Chapter's National Philanthropy Day event is NOW OPEN! We welcome all members of the philanthropic community to join us for National Philanthropy Day here in Maryland on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 at 8:30 AM. We are pleased to host this event in-person at the Oriole Park at Camden Yards. This year's theme is United in Compassion: Strengthening Our Community Together. In the spirit of solidarity and collaboration, we will celebrate the collective efforts and shared values of fundraising and philanthropy through compassion and unity to address the needs and challenges within our community. To kickoff our celebration, the event will begin with a continental breakfast and networking, followed by a panel discussion featuring local leaders of philanthropy. Our panelists, composed of experienced fundraisers, community leaders, and philanthropy experts, will share insights, strategies, and real-world examples of how collaborative efforts can amplify the impact of fundraising initiatives and address pressing community needs. Moderated by Mandy Snyder, Director, Baltimore Homecoming, we are proud to present our esteemed panelists: John Brothers, President, T. Rowe Price Foundation Chrissy Thornton, President & CEO, Associated Black Charities Joe Vogel, MD Delegate, District 17 (Montgomery County) Lisa Rusyniak, President & CEO, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake Our program will conclude with our 2024 award ceremony highlighting individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to Maryland's nonprofit and philanthropic community throughout the year. Don't forget to nominate changemakers in your community for one of our awards. Deadline is September 27th. National Philanthropy Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. The event schedule is as follows: 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. - Check-in & Networking Breakfast 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. - Panel Discussion 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. - Awardee Ceremony Early Bird tickets through October 14th are $40 for AFP members and $50 for non-members.
