Now Accepting Presenter Proposals for the 2019 Conference!

AFP Maryland is seeking fundraising professionals interested in sharing their knowledge, ideas and experience by becoming a presenter at the 2019 Fundraising Day in Maryland conference, June 10 at the BWI Airport Marriott.  We are seeking session proposals targeting development professionals of all stages of their career, featuring beginners, intermediate and advanced fundraising topics.  Presenting a seminar or workshop is also an excellent opportunity to earn CFRE credits for those seeking CFRE certification. These sessions are 75 minutes in length, and can be a presented by an individual or a team of fundraisers. 

Sample topics include:

  • Annual giving, major giving, planning giving, small shop and grassroots fundraising
  • Capital, endowment, special gift campaigns
  • Career management, finance for fundraisers and managing the development team
  • Corporate and foundation fundraising, donor relations and stewardship and leading volunteers
  • Ethics and emerging trends in philanthropy
  • Marketing/Public Relations, technology, online fundraising and social networking, special events, sponsorships, and cause-related marketing
  • Prospect identification and research

 Your proposal must include all of the following:

  • Your name, contact information, and bio or resume
  • Working title of the presentation
  • Brief summary or outline of the proposed presentation, including educational goals*
  • Target audience’s experience level: beginner 0-3 yrs, intermediate 3+ yrs., advanced 15+ yrs.
  • Provide list of any sessions you may have presented previously for AFP or another fundraising–related organizations
  • If co-presenting: Include the name, contact information, and bio or resume for your co-presenter 

*If you don’t have a complete presentation outlined, submit an overview of your concept and education goals so that our committee members may consider your idea.

While AFP Maryland does not pay speaker honorariums or travel expenses, selected speakers are invited to participate in the entire Fundraising Day conference and luncheon.  Consultants should make every effort to co-present with a professional from the nonprofit sector. Sales pitches or distribution of marketing materials during presentations is not permitted.

AFP Maryland offers a limited number of full scholarships to attend Fundraising Day or the Fundamentals of Fundraising Course.  The deadline to apply for a scholarship is Friday, May 18.  To apply, download the scholarship form and submit to the Chapter.
